Smartlink pages

On our smartlink pages, we collect anonymised or hashed IP addresses, browser type and version, access times, clicks on streaming buttons, referrer URLs and UTM parameters.

Playlist directory: optional statistics

On /discover and /en/discover, browser statistics start only after your consent. They count page visits, pages visible for at least ten seconds, and clicks to Spotify. A random identifier is held in the current tab’s session storage and renewed after 30 minutes without a measurement event.

Your cookie preference is stored in your browser for 180 days (about six months). You can change it at any time using Cookie settings in the footer. Withdrawing consent removes the tab identifier and stops further browser statistics.

Stored events contain the time, directory page, event type, a server-hashed session identifier, general source category and provider, device type and country where supplied by our hosting service. Discovery statistics do not store IP addresses, full referrer URLs, search terms or AI prompts. No advertising pixels are used on these directory pages. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are respected. Events are deleted after 90 days by our regular cleanup process. Reports are accessible only to authorised administrators.

Automated page requests are counted separately using the requesting program’s declared user agent, without a session identifier. These requests do not prove human visits or AI recommendations. Technical hosting logs are separate.

TikTok Pixel on smartlinks

With your consent, TikTok Pixel is used on smartlink pages to measure advertising campaigns through pageviews and button clicks. The stated legal basis is consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Smartlink advertising consent is stored for 12 months. You can withdraw it using the smartlink’s settings or clear the browser’s stored preferences. Discovery’s separate statistics preference applies for 180 days.

Optional Discovery statistics require your permission. Necessary storage remembers your consent choice. Blocking or clearing browser storage does not prevent you from using the playlist links.
